You can choose to be as involved in the process as you want.
As a member of Lamar Gives 365, you can choose to participate on one or more of the Lamar Gives teams. These are the teams and their role.
- Membership Team – oversees membership recruitment and retention
- Communications Team – promotes Lamar Gives 365 to the community and communicates with its members.
- Events Teams – plans three events per year — an annual kickoff event in August, a Closeout Celebration in October and a Grant Finalist event in February.
- Grants Team – leads the grant application review process and organizes site visits and follow up with grant recipient organizations.
You will learn about local nonprofits.
If you choose the participate on the Grants Team or attend the Grant Finalist Event, you will have the opportunity to learn about programs and needs at local nonprofits.
You will meet and exchange ideas with like-minded people.
By serving on a Team or attending an event, you will meet other Lamar Gives 365 members who share an interest in encouraging philanthropy and strengthening the community.
You will have a vote in which organizations receive a grant.
Each member who attends the Grant Finalist Event in February will have an opportunity to cast a vote on each proposal and how the available dollars are allocated among the top ranked applicants.
You will feel good about supporting your community.
